Allegion Australia has released the Schlage Encore™ Commercial Smart Lock and Schlage Breeze™ access management platform, targeting multi-residential, retirement living and light commercial projects where credential flexibility, building code compliance and remote management are specification requirements.
The Schlage Encore handles five versatile access types from a single device: fingerprint (up to 300 prints), touch screen PIN code, RFID tags, Bluetooth via the Schlage Breeze™ app, and two mechanical backup keys with a rekeyable PD cylinder. Physical master keying is available. The lock comes in two finishes: SCEOBZ700SCP (Satin Chrome Plate) and SCEOBZ700MB (Matte Black) and carries a two-year mechanical and two-year electronic warranty.
The external escutcheon carries an IP65 rating for exposed external door installations. The lock offers versatile installation options and accepts either a tubular latch or mortice lock and has been rated up to 2 hours for use on fire door assemblies (when installed with either the Legge 991 Mortice Lock or Schlage 48009164 Tubular Latch*. Monitoring outputs include a built-in tamper alarm, REX (Request to Exit) via internal cylinder and lever sensing, and door status monitoring when paired with the Schlage Breeze Door Sensor (SCEBRZDS).
"The Schlage Encore mitigates the compliance requirements that typically create friction at the hardware specification stage: fire-door compatibility, weather rating, DDA-compliant lever - in a single product. For integrators and specifiers, the unit removes a lot of risk from the hardware schedule. The Schlage Breeze™ platform and the supporting accessories also give installers a clear deployment path without the integration into a full PACS infrastructure."
Nick Flinos, Director EAC Strategy, Allegion ANZ
Schlage Encore™ is part of the Schlage Breeze solution, with the the Schlage Breeze™ platform supporting two deployment configurations. In standalone mode, the cloud-based Breeze platform provides centralised user management, connected via either the BZ100 Wi-Fi Bridge or BZ100-P PoE Bridge. For projects with an existing proptech stack, the lock operates in the background, letting existing resident or building management apps handle the front end.
The lock can be used in conjunction with a suite of Schlage Breeze. The Schlage Keypad Controller (SCEOMKPC) has a REX input and a general-purpose relay output that can be wired to drive an electric strike or maglock, and the Schlage Breeze Encoder (SCEBRZENC) supports on-site card programming. Scar plates are available for retrofit to existing Schlage Omnia installations.
"The ANZ market is at a point where developers and building managers are specifying smart access as a baseline requirement, not a premium add-on. Schlage Encore sits at the right technical and commercial spot to meet that demand. This locally engineered and assembled lock integrates cleanly into the proptech ecosystems our customers are already working with. The Schlage Breeze platform's open integration approach also keeps the hardware layer flexible as building software standards continue to evolve."

The Schlage Encore™ and accessories are available now through Allegion's authorised distribution network across Australia and New Zealand.
